Good morning respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends.
Today, I am honoured to speak on the topic “Green Campus Movement.”
A school is more than just a place to study. It is a place where we learn values, develop good habits, and prepare ourselves to become responsible citizens. One of the best ways to care for our environment is by supporting the Green Campus Movement.
A Green Campus is a school that is clean, green, and environmentally friendly. It encourages students, teachers, and staff to work together to protect nature by reducing pollution, conserving resources, and keeping the campus healthy and beautiful.
There are many ways to create a green campus. We can plant trees, flowers, and shrubs to improve air quality and provide shade. We should take good care of school gardens and avoid damaging plants. Trees not only make the campus beautiful but also provide oxygen and create a peaceful learning environment.
Saving electricity is another important part of the Green Campus Movement. We should switch off lights, fans, computers, and projectors when they are not in use. Using natural sunlight whenever possible and installing energy-efficient LED lights can also reduce energy consumption.
Water conservation is equally important. We should close taps properly, report leaking pipes, and use water carefully. Schools can also collect rainwater for gardening and cleaning purposes.
Proper waste management helps keep the campus clean. We should separate wet and dry waste, recycle paper, plastic, glass, and metal, and compost biodegradable waste to create natural fertiliser for school gardens. By avoiding single-use plastics and carrying reusable bottles and lunch boxes, we can further reduce waste.
The Green Campus Movement also encourages environmental awareness. Schools can organise tree-planting drives, clean-up campaigns, nature walks, recycling competitions, and environmental clubs. These activities teach teamwork, responsibility, and respect for nature.
As students, we have an important role to play. By following eco-friendly habits and encouraging others to do the same, we can inspire positive change in our families and communities. Every small action counts, and together we can make a big difference.
Let us remember that a green campus is not created in a single day. It is built through the daily efforts of every student and teacher. By working together, we can create a healthier, cleaner, and more beautiful school for everyone.
I would like to end with this inspiring message:
“A green campus begins with green thinking. Let us protect nature, keep our school clean, and work together to build a brighter and greener future.”
Thank you, and have a wonderful day!
